Abstrakt
Artykuł stanowi rozważania interdyscyplinarne dotyczące labiryntu jako struktury symbolicznej, łącząc perspektywy psychologii, archeologii, urbanistyki, muzykologii oraz studiów nad płcią. Labirynt ukazany jest nie tylko jako motyw mitologiczny, lecz także jako narzędzie poznawcze, emocjonalne i narracyjne, wspierające procesy integracji doświadczeń, orientacji przestrzennej oraz transformacji tożsamości. Omówione są jego funkcje w kontekście kodowania wizualnego, teorii poznania ucieleśnionego, systemów symboli percepcyjnych i psychologii narracyjnej. Widoczną uwagę poświęcono przedstawieniom labiryntu w sztuce antycznej (głównie monetach i mozaikach) oraz jego obecności w strukturach urbanistycznych i rytuałach inicjacyjnych. Artykuł ukazuje labirynt jako dynamiczne narzędzie interpretacyjne, które łączy przestrzeń fizyczną z symboliczną i poznawczą, oferując bogaty materiał do refleksji nad ludzkim doświadczeniem.

Abstract
The article is an interdisciplinary consideration of the labyrinth as a symbolic structure, combining the perspectives of psychology, archaeology, urban studies, musicology and gender studies. The labyrinth is shown not only as a mythological motif, but also as a cognitive, emotional and narrative tool, supporting the processes of experience integration, spatial orientation and identity transformation. Its functions in the context of visual coding, theories of embodied cognition, perceptual symbol systems and narrative psychology are discussed. Prominent attention is given to depictions of the labyrinth in ancient art (mainly coins and mosaics) and its presence in urban structures and initiation rituals. The article reveals the labyrinth as a dynamic interpretive tool that combines physical with symbolic and cognitive space, offering rich material for reflection on human experience.
