Abstrakt
Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na fakt, iż muzyka stanowi medium, które może służyć zarówno podkreślaniu różnic między grupami narodowymi, religijnymi i innymi, skutkującym wykluczeniem społecznym, jak i być pomocną w promowaniu postawy tolerancji i otwartości na różnorodność. W centrum uwagi autorki znalazła się muzyka żydowska, bądź postrzegana jako żydowska, wykonywana przez Żydów i nie-Żydów we współczesnej Polsce. Akcent został przy tym położony na pozytywne aspekty odradzania się kultury żydowskiej po okresie Holokaustu. Punkt wyjścia do podjętych rozważań stanowi metafora mostu i drzwi opisana w eseju „Most i drzwi” przez niemieckiego filozofa, teoretyka kultury i socjologa żydowskiego pochodzenia, Georga Simmla.

About music that unites. Jewish music in contemporary Poland
Abstract
The aim of this article is to draw attention to the fact that music is a medium that can serve both to emphasize differences between national, religious, and other minorities, resulting in social exclusion, and at the same time to promote tolerance and openness to diversity. The author focuses on Jewish music, or music perceived as Jewish, performed by Jews and non-Jews in contemporary Poland. The emphasis is on the positive aspects of the revival of Jewish culture after the Holocaust. The starting point for the discussion is the metaphor of a bridge and a door described in the article “Bridge and Door” by Georg Simmel, a German philosopher, cultural theorist, and sociologist of Jewish origin.
