Abstrakt
W artykule podejmuję refleksję nad kreatywnością sztucznej inteligencji, w szczególności zastanawiam się nad tym, czy algorytmy potrafią tworzyć sztukę i działać sensotwórczo. Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest typologia kreatywności autorstwa Margaret Boden. Omówione przykłady sugerują, że algorytmy są zdolne do kreatywności kombinacyjnej i eksploracyjnej. Możliwość realizowania przez nie działań transformacyjnych jest trudna do rozstrzygnięcia, również ze względu na nieostrość tej koncepcji. Twórcze działania algorytmów zawsze inicjowane są przez człowieka, nie powstają z potrzeby ekspresji sztucznej inteligencji i nie niosą dla niej żadnego sensu. Aktywność sensotwórcza wciąż pozostaje domeną homo sapiens. Nie sposób jednak odpowiedzieć dziś na pytanie czy sztuczna inteligencja musi mieć wolę kreacji i rozumieć sens tego, co tworzy, by było to wartościowe, sensowne, poruszające i inspirujące dla odbiorców.

Creativity of Artificial Intelligence. Can Algorithms Create Art and Do They Have the Capacity of Sensemaking?
Abstract
In this article, I reflect on the creativity of artificial intelligence, in particular, I wonder whether algorithms can create art and have the capacity of sensemaking. The starting point for my considerations is the typology of creativity by Margaret Boden. The examples discussed suggest that algorithms are capable of combinatory and exploratory creativity. It is difficult to decide if they are capable of transformational activities, also due to the vagueness of this concept. Creative activities of algorithms are always initiated by humans, do not arise from the need of expression and do not carry any meaning for algorithms. Sensemaking activity still remains the domain of homo sapiens. However, we do not know whether artificial intelligence needs to have the will of creation and understand the meaning of what it creates, to make it valuable, meaningful, moving and inspiring for the audience.
